The history of the artist (s)

Kelly fell in love with glass at age 5 when she discovered a lime green glass "rock" in the bottom of her brothers fishtank. Yet she didn't start her jewelry business until 2003.

Kelly layers many colors in the kiln and fires to about 1650. This creates interesting textures, mottles and swirls, which she then cuts and shapes. The final jewelry piece is fire polished. Sterling bails  are created on many pieces by using traditional metalsmithing skills.

She uses a variety of construction techniques to vary the glass, and likes to have fresh ideas every year. She works with frit, sheet glass and some accessory glass. She uses dichroic as well as non dichroic glass.

Kelly teaches kiln formed glass jewelry classes at the Indianapolis Art Center and sells at art fairs in the Midwest and at the CCA Gallery in Carmel IN.

She sells ornaments in the holiday season as well as her jewelry.
